Your access to human resources plays a pivotal part of this game. Use these cards and others like them to start businesses where these folks would excel. Part of your final score is how many green jobs you’re able to create during the game.

As an investor, you must also navigate the turbulent waters of public policy and random events. Sometimes these are extremely helpful…other times not so much. By strategically aligning your investments with these cards which encompass the current political winds and unpredictable events, your investments do better, which helps you win the game.

In GBO Hawai’i, you must move around the island state of Hawai’i to take advantage of the best investments in each county. You can only invest in a Wind Farm in Maui County if your player piece is in Maui County at the time that that investment is available and that you have the Human Resources and investment capital to get the job done!

Impact investing is a relatively new and rapidly growing field where investors put their money into sustainable investments because they believe they can make money and make the world a better place at the same time. These are the investments represented in GBO Hawai’i. Invest in a wind farm or a geothermal plant…the choice is yours!

Use Chance Cards to strategically get ahead or to get yourself out of trouble. If you have an organic farm, a Chance Card in this game helps you recruit volunteers through the Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) program. Draw yourself a couple of extra Resource Cards and put those people to work–they want to help green the world!

We hope you enjoy the game as much as we enjoyed creating it. Let’s build a greener world!
